What this site does and doesn't do
Glass Help Hamilton matches people in and around Hamilton with independent window, door and glass businesses, at no cost to you. Tell us about the job and we send it to a pro who takes on that kind of work. Pros may pay us for referrals.
We don't measure, quote, sell, supply, install or repair anything, and nobody from Glass Help Hamilton comes to your property. We're not affiliated with any similarly named window or door company in Hamilton.
We can't promise that a pro will be free for your job, your address or your timing, and we don't promise when anyone will call. The guides and answers here describe typical problems broadly. We lean toward fixing the part that failed when that's sensible, but only the pro who sees the window can say whether it needs a part, fresh glass or a replacement.
Independent contractors and your contract with them
- Each pro is a separate business, not our employee, agent or partner.
- The quote, price, what's included and the schedule come from the pro. Any contract for work is between you and them, and we can't change its terms.
- A price can change once the pro measures, opens a frame or finds hidden damage. Ask for any change in writing before you agree, and ask for parts and labour listed separately if that helps you compare.
- Ontario's consumer protection law gives you rights on home service contracts, including a cooling-off period when you sign at home and limits on how far a final bill can exceed a written estimate without your agreement. Ontario explains them on its home service contracts page.
- Warranties on work or products, if there are any, come from the pro or the maker. We don't offer or stand behind any warranty.
- Workmanship, materials, insurance, site safety and any permits the job needs are the pro's responsibility. Before you hire, ask for a written quote and how they handle permits.
Content accuracy
Permit, heritage, rental-licensing and rebate information on this site is general, and it changes. City of Hamilton rules, heritage districts and provincial or federal programs are set by others and can change without notice to us. Burlington and Grimsby have their own permit offices. Confirm anything that affects your job with the City's building or heritage staff, your condo board, your insurer or the program itself before you rely on it. Where we can, we link the official source. Nothing on this site is legal, engineering or financial advice.
Using the site
Send only genuine requests, and only photos and details you have the right to share. Don't send anyone else's personal information without their permission. The text and design of this site belong to us or our licensors; don't copy them for commercial use.
Liability, governing law (Ontario) and changes
The site and the referral service are provided as they are. To the fullest extent the law permits, Glass Help Hamilton has no liability for what a pro does or says, what they charge or when they turn up, or for losses from relying on general information here. Your non-waivable rights under Ontario consumer law stay intact.
Ontario law, and the federal law that applies in Ontario, governs these terms, and disputes belong in Ontario courts. We may update them and will post the new version here with its date.
Our privacy policy covers your information, and how it works shows each step. Questions? Use the contact page. Ready? Ask for a quote.
