Glass for storefronts, offices and multi-unit buildings
Much of Hamilton's commercial glass is main-street glass: brick blocks with shops below and suites above. A smashed display pane, a door that slams on every customer, fogged units upstairs. We don't do the work ourselves; we connect shops, offices and building owners with independent local commercial glass pros. Pick the job, or describe the property and the glass.

Street level
Storefront and display glass
Storefront glass
Cracked or smashed shop windows, cloudy display units and tired framing, boarded first if needed and then fitted with new glass.
Security and privacy film
Film that helps hold broken glass together, cuts glare on a sunny display or screens a back office from the sidewalk.
Shelves and case glass
Glass shelves, display case panels and counter tops, cut and edged to size for shops, galleries and cafés on a main street.
The front door
Glass entrance doors and closers
Shop door repair
Closers that slam, worn pivots, stubborn locks and sticky push bars. A busy entrance usually needs a part, not a whole new door.
Door and sidelight glass
A cracked panel in a glass door or the sidelight beside it, replaced with safety glass that's ordered to suit the opening.
Patio and balcony doors
Sliding doors onto a restaurant patio, or in the suites upstairs, that drag, won't lock or let the wind straight through.
Inside
Office partitions and interior glass
Glass cut to size
Replacement partition panels, glass desk tops and wall panels cut to size. Tell us what the piece is and where it goes.
Studio and washroom mirrors
Wall mirrors for gyms, salons, studios and washrooms, cut to the wall you have and hung with fixings that suit their weight.
Plexiglass and counter guards
Acrylic or polycarbonate for counter guards, sign panels and a stopgap after a break. Where code calls for safety glass, plastic won't do.
Rental buildings
Apartment and mixed-use buildings
Landlords and managers
Walk-ups over shops, Lower City conversions and towers on the Mountain. One request can cover several units, with licensing rules in mind.
Fogged suite windows
Fog between the panes, suite after suite. The sealed unit can usually be replaced on its own while the frame and trim stay.
Screens at turnover
Torn or missing screens, batched across the vacant units so each suite is ready before the next tenant moves in.

Façade upgrades and City grants in commercial districts
Heritage storefronts
In MacNab-Charles and the other heritage districts, changing windows or doors needs a Heritage Permit first. Fixing a broken pane usually doesn't.
Renovations and fit-outs
For renovators on a façade or a tenant fit-out: storefront glass, doors, showers and mirrors, quoted from your drawings and your dates.
The windows upstairs
Apartment windows above a storefront are often the oldest glass on the block. Some owners replace them; others repair and keep them.
The City offers matching façade grants in some commercial districts, and work near the King Street LRT corridor may need Metrolinx approval first.

Matching
How commercial requests are matched
Tell us the address, the business and what's broken. We pass it to an independent commercial glass pro who covers that part of the city, from Lower City main streets to the Mountain and the former towns. If nobody covers the address, we'll say so.
Tell us what's broken and where
Give us the address, the kind of building and the glass or door that's the problem. We'll pass it to an independent commercial glass pro who covers it.
